“If you dream it… you can live it that’s the motto that characterizes the dynamic team of sisters, Demia Avery and Gerra Avery of Sister Entertainment, LLC. Originally from Gary, Indiana by way of Wilmington, Delaware these two sisters had a collective objective to become a part of the entertainment industry. Briefly separating, with Demia relocating to Los Angeles and Gerra heading for Dallas, the pair believed that by branching out to different states, they could more readily acquire proficiency in their chosen field of entertainment Artist Development. However, the sisters finally came together, adopting Atlanta as their home.
Gerra’s geniality and wit, coupled with her experience in media relations and theatre production, was a perfect complement to Demia’s acute sense for business and natural knack for promotions and marketing. Gerra’s skills stemmed in part from her stint as a professional model and actress; Demia’s were rooted in her knowledge of management and her professional status as a producer and vocalist. With their experience tipping the scales, the two made a wise decision to pool their strengths, creating Sister Entertainment, LLC.
In the beginning, Sister Entertainment, LLC produced a television entertainment magazine show entitled, IN THE ATL… Aired locally on People TV, Channel 24 Atlanta, the program offered a platform for undiscovered talent, and provided the community with a visual representation of the many facets of music, theatre, sports, nightclubs, restaurants and businesses in the area. The show, also, featured local celebrities, such as Evander Holyfield and Frank Ski (on-air radio personality of Atlanta’s V103). The overwhelming response to IN THE ATL… became the catalyst for Sister Entertainment’s evolution into a full-fledged company that provides recording and performance training, talent management, image consulting, and industry referrals and resources. Upon using their services, artists markedly increase the likelihood of gaining the interest of record labels and music industry professionals in the business today. In addition, Sister Entertainment, LLC includes a talent scouting outlet for record labels, producers, and entertainment companies. The service can be utilized by those seeking specialized talent; such as: singers, actors, dancers, video models, make-up artists, hairstylists, and photographers. Cross marketing aids Sister Entertainment, LLC in establishing an advantageous climate for all clientele.
Demia says, “We’ve all heard them before, those fast talking, phony acting, I know somebody con artists that really can’t help your career at all.”
In the past Sister Entertainment, LLC also joined forces with Starpoynt Magazine and Uptopp Entertainment to present the premier talent showcase, Who’s Got That Vibe? at Atlanta’s Café 290. Participating artists enjoyed a rare opening to showcase their musical talent before some of the most influential record executives in the business. Judges have included producers and representatives of well-known record labels such as: Teddy Bishop (GrammyAward winning producer), Focus (Aftermath Records), India Graves (Sanctuary Urban Bryan Michael Cox (GrammyAward winning producer), Michael Bennett (JPat Mgmt). and many more.
Most recently Sister Entertainment's Broadcast Division (tv, film, commercial and print) has brought itself to the companies fore-front. The company now represents over
200 actor(s) in the Atlanta area. They have developed relationships with the major casting agencies in Atlanta and some of their clients include Scripps Networks (DIY, Fine Living, Food Network), Tyler Perry Studios, BET, Turner , Pogo Pictures, Lifetime, just to name a few. Also their actors have appeared in commercials such as Georgia Lottery, Equifax, Yoplait, WalMart, Suburu, Sears and many more.
Demia and Gerra are exceedingly optimistic about the future possibilities of Sister Entertainment, LLC, still they remain humble, understanding how exceptionally blessed and privileged they are to operate a family run organization.
